System Administrator, HPC High Performance Compute) Top Secret clearance
Picayune, MississippiStrategic Business Systems (SBS) is hiring a System Administrator to support a customer at John C. Stennis Space Center. An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required. Limited travel may be required.
Required Skills:
- Extensive knowledge and experience of Linux operating systems (RHEL or SLES), workload management systems, parallel file systems, networking and security.
- Red Hat and Red Hat Clustering
Preferred Skills:
- CompTIA Linux + and Security +
- Working knowledge of High Performance Computing (HPC), specifically SGI 8600 systems.
- Provisioning using HPE's Cluster Management Utility tool highly desired
- Experience with MPI software and compilers (Intel, OpenMPI and/or MPICH)
- Experience using Job Schedulers such as LSF, PBS Pro, SunGrid Engine, Moab, Torque
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-going performance analysis and performance tuning for Customer’s designated and implemented HPC Cluster in Customer’s designated and implemented environment (collectively, the “HPC Cluster”);
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair software problems impacting the HPC Cluster;
- Install Customer’s designated and properly licensed software patches and upgrade software/firmware as mutually agreed;
- Respond to Customer’s designated software trouble tickets and software problems identified by Customer’s designated system administrators and users;
- Ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment to investigate and resolve complex problems.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of Linux operating systems (RHEL or SLES), workload management systems, parallel file systems, networking and security.
- Must have direct experience and demonstrated proficiency with multiple programming and scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python, C, Fortran, etc.)
- Ability to maintain system software, utilizing debugging tools for problem isolation; will perform software builds, software upgrades and patch installation as needed
- Possess the organizational and analytical skills needed to effectively isolate both hardware and software problems and drive solutions through to conclusion
- Excellent interpersonal, customer relations and problem management skills, with the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure while working to strict deadlines
- Very good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with project planning and management, process management and team or project leadership
- Ability to clearly document processes and procedures with a focus toward mentoring and sharing knowledge
